Security of Digital Signature Services and Protection Against Fraud

Frequently Asked Questions on How to Recognize Fraud Attempts, What Namirial Does and Does Not Do, and What to Do if Your Credentials Have Been Compromised.

What Namirial Does and Does Not Do

Can Namirial call me to ask for my username and password?

NO, NEVER

Namirial will never ask for your login credentials over the phone, via SMS, or by email. Your username, password, and OTP code are strictly personal and must never be shared with anyone, including someone claiming to be a Namirial operator.

Can Namirial remotely connect to my computer?

NO, NEVER

Namirial never requires the installation of remote access software (such as AnyDesk or TeamViewer), unless explicitly requested by the customer for support purposes, nor does it connect to your computer to perform updates or checks. Any such request is a clear sign of a fraud attempt.

Can Namirial ask me for banking details or my IBAN over the phone?

NO, NEVER

Namirial never asks for IBAN numbers, credit card details, or any banking information over the phone. There are no renewals or updates for digital signature services that require payment through a phone call.

Can the office or agency that issued my digital signature ask me for my credentials?

NO, NEVER

Not even the operator who activated your digital signature has any reason to ask for your username, password, or OTP after activation. Your credentials are for your personal use only to access services. If you receive a call from someone pretending to be your issuing office and asking for these details, it is a scam.

Recognizing the Scam

How can I recognize a fraudulent phone call?

WARNING

Typical warning signs include:

  • urgent requests for credentials or OTP codes;
  • claims about a system or service update;
  • requests to remotely connect to your computer;
  • requests for payment, even a small amount, to renew the service;
  • different phone numbers from official channels.

Scammers may appear very credible: they may know your name, your tax identification number, and even whoever issued your digital signature. This does not make them legitimate.

I received a notification of access to a Public Service or another government service that I did not perform. What does this mean?

ACT IMMEDIATELY

This may mean that someone has used your digital signature credentials to access public services in your name. Immediately change your digital signature password, verify that your account contact details are still yours, and contact Namirial. Consider revoking your digital signature and filing a police report.

I received an SMS from a financial company regarding a change I did not request. What should I do?

ACT IMMEDIATELY

Immediately contact the company using the official phone number listed on their website (not the number provided in the message) and dispute the transaction. Change your digital signature password, verify the contact details associated with your account, and file a report with the authorities.

Scammers may initiate financial procedures in your name using compromised digital signature credentials. It is important to act quickly.

How can I verify whether my digital signature account has been modified?

TO DO

Log in to the Namirial reserved area (https://portal.namirialtsp.com/) and verify that:

  • the associated email address is yours;
  • the associated mobile phone number is yours;
  • there are no OTP devices you do not recognize.

If you find any unfamiliar information, immediately contact Namirial through official channels.

What to Do if You Have Been Scammed

I accidentally shared my credentials. What should I do immediately?

ACT IMMEDIATELY

  • Immediately change your digital signature password from the Namirial reserved area.
  • Verify that the email address and phone number associated with the account are still yours. If they have been changed, contact Namirial immediately.
  • Revoke and reinstall the OTP app on your device.
  • Check whether you have received notifications of access to Public Services, tax authority services, or other government services.
  • File a report with the authorities, including the phone numbers from which you were contacted.

Can I revoke my digital signature?

YES

You can request the revocation of your digital signature at any time by completing the form available on the Namirial website and sending it through the official channels. Revocation makes digital signatures immediately unusable.

You may request a new one later by visiting an authorized office with a valid identity document.

Should I file a report even if I am not sure whether anything was actually stolen?

YES, IT IS RECOMMENDED

Even if you have not yet noticed any concrete damage, filing a report is important for three reasons:

  • It protects you from possible future activities carried out in your name;
  • It contributes to investigations by the competent authorities;
  • It helps protect other people from the same scam scheme.

You can contact the police authorities, including through official online reporting portals where available.

What happens if someone uses my digital signature to access public services?

HANDLE WITH URGENCY

If you suspect or are certain that your digital signature has been used by third parties, you should:

  • report the unauthorized access to the involved authority or organization by submitting a formal complaint;
  • request the immediate revocation of your digital signature through Namirial;
  • verify with the relevant authority whether applications, requests, or operations have been initiated in your name and request their cancellation.

Filing a report with the authorities is essential in order to formally dispute any action carried out using your digital signature without your consent.
